In this latest work Ramon Robertson is interested in aspects of human manipulation and control – of biological systems, urbanisation, architecture, systems, and habits. Human condition and behaviour are also elements that form Robertson’s work, particularly viewers’ perception of objects and environment. These ideas tie together into themes of production and development and our mutation of the natural environment in his two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.
Robertson moved to Auckland from Scotland in 2011. He has BA Honours Degree in Fine Art Sculpture from Glasgow School of Art, Scotland, and an MA in Interior Design from Manchester Metropolitan University, England. These two degrees combine his interest in design, architecture and urbanisation.
