Andrea Gardner is a US-born photographer and sculptor, who has called Whanganui home since 1995. She is interested in romantic notions of the ‘picturesque’ and how this relates to environmental concerns. Her work is held across numerous public collections throughout New Zealand.

Brit Bunkley works across sculpture and 3D modelling, video, and image editing programs. While focusing on existential anxieties and apocalyptic fears, his work introduces elements of whimsy and irony. He is also represented in public collections, and has been the recipient of many awards and fellowships, including the Rome Prize and the National Endowment for the Arts (1980), C.A.P.S. N.Y. State artist’s fellowship grant, Winner of the Sculpture Wanganui 2011 Award 3rd prize, and Now&After’12, Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

Andrea Gardner and Brit Bunkley are linked by their exploration of the animal kingdom and its relationship to humans and the landscape.

This is Brit and Andrea’s second time exhibiting in Sculpture in the Gardens.
